Stante Group
Transportation and freight forwarding
For over fifty years, Stante Group has been a leading player in international freight forwarding and integrated logistics.
Founded in 1973, the Group now manages more than 300,000 shipments per year, operates approximately 95,000 m² of logistics space and has a network of offices across Italy and internationally, providing road, sea and air freight forwarding services as well as warehouse logistics solutions.
The company has always invested in innovation as a key driver for delivering increasingly efficient, transparent and digital services to its customers.
Founded as a family business by the three Stante brothers — Marco, Roberto and David — the Group has evolved into a multi-branch, multi-company organization, with each location specializing according to its geographical area and local market requirements. Its expertise ranges from road freight forwarding at Ecotrans Milano, to sea, air and road operations at the Vicenza offices, and a predominantly sea freight business in Naples and Rome. This active commercial model, based on directly acquiring Italian customers shipping internationally, reflects the Group’s solid reputation and professional expertise in the industry.
As Chiara Stante, Marketing Manager at Stante Group, explains:
“Today, a freight forwarding company cannot simply move goods from point A to point B. Customers expect traceability, real-time access to documentation and advanced digital services.”

NEEDS
Before implementing the new system, Stante Group was using an outdated management system. The Group’s growth, combined with the evolution of the market, had made a clear limitation increasingly evident: the system used at the time was no longer able to support operational volumes or enable the company to develop new value-added services.
The goal was not simply to replace the software, but to build a platform capable of supporting the business in the years to come.
“The management system we had previously could no longer cope with our workload. We needed a new, up-to-date and customizable system, with a user-friendly interface and greater security.” — Chiara Stante
A thorough software selection process was therefore launched to identify a modern Transportation Management System, easily integrable with the company’s other systems and capable of becoming not only an operational tool, but also a strategic platform for data management and analysis.
Following an in-depth assessment phase and a comparison with several international competitors, Stante Group selected SIMA TMS by Zucchetti Logistics (formerly SGA) as the solution that best matched its operational processes, thanks to its high level of configurability, integration capabilities with other corporate systems, and a particularly effective project implementation methodology.
SOLUTIONS
The project involved replacing the legacy ERP with the new SIMA Transportation Management System (TMS) in just eight months.
During the initial analysis phase, all processes and activities to be managed were thoroughly and accurately mapped.
The following functionalities were implemented:
- Road, sea and air shipment management
- Customs procedures management
- Outbound invoicing
- Integrated CRM
- KPIs and Business Intelligence
- Integration with external systems and customs operators
To minimize the impact of the transition, a detailed back-planning schedule was developed, key users were identified, and a continuous training program was put in place, involving the entire staff on a daily basis for approximately four months.
The result was a particularly significant go-live: on January 1, 2024, Stante Group went live fully independently, with no Zucchetti Logistics staff physically present at its premises, relying solely on remote support when required. This achievement was made possible by careful preparation and strong collaboration between the project teams.
