Fraunhofer IML renews its validation of Zucchetti Logistics’ WMS and TMS

WMS: over ten years of evolution
Zucchetti Logistics’ WMS has been undergoing Fraunhofer validation since 2012–2013.
A benchmarking process that has accompanied its evolution, from integration with ERP and automated systems to the adoption of Voice, Light, Wearable, RFID and AMR technologies.
Today, these are complemented by new applications of Artificial Intelligence, used to automate tasks, collect and interpret data, documents and images, and support increasingly efficient and connected warehouse processes.
TMS: AI, routing, sustainability and integrations
The TMS also undergoes Fraunhofer validation, extending the benchmarking process to solutions for managing road, sea, air and intermodal transport and shipments.
The system integrates advanced tools for transport routing and planning, delivery certification, and the calculation of industrial and shipment costs. These tools also leverage AI to process multiple variables and identify the most efficient solutions. The TMS also interfaces with a broad ecosystem of external services, including freight exchanges, LTL networks, EDI, port terminals, rail connections, booking systems and customs software.
AI also supports the automated acquisition and interpretation of orders and documents, transforming unstructured information into data that can be used in operational processes.
On the sustainability front, the GreenWay tool calculates the Carbon Footprint of road freight transport, providing data on emissions associated with transport activities. The TMS also integrates with platforms for managing e-CMR and e-DDT, contributing to the digitalisation and traceability of documents accompanying shipments.
